Problems starting the program

I recently began using this program, and haven't had a lot of success with it. I started with 0.1 Beta 1 (I think) and was never able to get it to connect with FSX (like in loading a flight), so I switched to, which worked. Today I downloaded the newest 0.1.0 Beta 3, and am having similar problem as with Beta 1. I start the program, load FSX from the application, start Google Earth with the application (it is the current version), the program recognizes FSX, but 5-10 seconds later popps up w/ a little balloon with a red X that says "FSX Exception", which didn't happen w/ Beta 1. It proceeds with the little green square lit up on the icon, but says 'FSX Google Earth Tracker (Waiting for connection...)' when you roll the mouse over it. Also when you go to load or reload a flight, there is no change in the program. Google Earth has the program loaded, but doesn't go anywhere or do anything. I have Windows XP Pro service pack II, and all applicable updates from windows update. If you need any other info, please just let me know. By the way, in a unrelated question, back when I ran and everything was working, all the airplanes and everything were updating as they should on google earth, but I constantly had to move the screen to keep up with my moving aircraft.. Maybe I am expecting a little too much from Google Earth but I thought if you selected the aircraft as the target the screen would move when the aircraft moves. I know I could just zoom out a bit and I wouldn't have to move so much, but it's kinda nice at airports to see the details of the taxiways, runways etc from a close distance. Anyway, thanks so much for your help, and keep up the awesome work on this great program!

Before I make any further comments on that, I've got a few questions: Which processor are you using? Is it a dual- / multi core or single core CPU? Are you running FSX and FSXGET on the same computer or distinct computers? Are your running FSX with all service packs / updates installed?

Regarding your problem with GE view not following your aircraft: That's functionality planned for the future (to be integrated in FSXGET) but for now, there's an option when you right click any object in GE and go to its property pages. There should be some option saying something like 'center view on that object' as far as I remember. That should do the trick I think.

I have an Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz processor. Yes I run everything on the same computer, and I have had FSX service pack 1 installed. Thanks for the tip for google earth, and thanks again for looking into this problem for me.

Would you mind to try and install FSX Service Pack 2? I'm not sure whether this will help but that could be the reason for your problems.

I installed the new service pack and it works fine! Due to service pack 2's description, I didn't immediately connect the dots that it would affect the program. Thanks for the help, and I can't wait until you add the new part where GE follows the aircraft (though I did figure out how to do it w/ GE, it was just zoomed in way to far during flight). Once again, thanks for the fantastic free program!

Beta 2 & 3 & fsxget.exe will not run, they just return an error asking to report it to MS.

Beta 1 did install but will not connect & its ....html item is grayed out.

I use XPpro sp2, & FSX sp2.

Do I need anything else to install to make them work?

Thanx, nick
